Till we meet again

No one prepares you for the loss of a parent. It is deeply painful since they play a key role in providing continuous emotional support. Though they are no longer physically with us, memories of them linger in favourite places, food, stories, books, videos and photos!

We miss you Ta!

Our hearts still ache with sadness and many silent tears still flow.

We miss the sound of your laughter, the sound of your voice, your story telling and the wisdom in your advice.

We are reminded that grieving is a process, so we will allow ourselves to grieve and heal.

We find comfort in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father, who knows us better than we know ourselves, understands our pain and is eager to grow us and give us His peace.

His Word says that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalms 147:3), so we choose to lean on God who will continue the process of healing our broken hearts and in the future, replace our sorrow with never ending joy.

We hold you close within our hearts and will continue the legacy that you have set for us until we meet again.

Power of the tongue

So many times we carelessly speak words out without thinking of its effects on others and ourselves.

This morning I am reminded of the power of the tongue and the power of the spoken word!! When someone says something nice to me or even compliments me, I feel good inside. There's this positive, feel good energy that rises within me. I would imagine that the same thing would happen to others!

However, the opposite happens when negative words are spoken.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 15:1, 4

We have the power to speak positive words over others and ourselves. Words that bring life, healing, restoration, joy, happiness and words that create a positive energy.

I am also reminded that our heart is so connected to the words we speak! Jesus said.....
".......out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45)

If the heart is critical then the tongue will be critical. If it's bitter, the tongue will be bitter.  Words that come out of a bitter heart will destroy others. If I have a self-righteous heart then I will always think I am right and be judgmental of others.

Prayer
Lord, Set a guard over my mouth, and keep watch over the door of my lips (Psalm 141:3) , fill my heart with your love so may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:14.
