Where does my help come from? Psalm 121

Praying according to Psalm 121

Father,

We lift up our eyes to the mountains- where does our help come from?

Our help comes from You our Lord,  the Maker of heaven and earth.

 You will not let our feet slip - You who watch over us will not slumber; 

 indeed, You who watch over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

 Lord, You continually watch over us - You are our shade at our right hand; 

 the sun will not harm us by day, nor the moon by night.

Lord, You will keep us from all harm -  
You will watch over our lives; 

 You, our Lord will watch over our coming and going both now and forevermore.

Power of the Cross

Christ takes each sin, each pain, each loss,
And by the power of His cross
Transforms our brokenness and shame;
So that our lives exalt His name.—D. De Haan

You are my King

Ev'ry road I've traveled down, You have gone before me.

He knows my name

I am humbled, in awe and so grateful that He knows my name. He knows EVERYTHING and He controls EVERYTHING!

How awesome and how great is our God.

Pray at all times

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24 NIV)

"We are to pray in times of adversity, lest we become faithless and unbelieving. 

We are to pray in times of prosperity, lest we become boastful and proud. 

We are to pray in times of danger, lest we become fearful and doubting. 

We need to pray in times of security, lest we become self-sufficient."

Prayer keeps me grounded. It also keeps me humble and at the same time confident.

Lord, thank you that You do not give a deaf ear to when we cry out to You. You remind me again this morning that I need to believe. Thank you. In Jesus name. Amen.

Reaching for You

His Mercies are New Every Morning

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22,23

I am so thankful that we serve a God of second chances! Each morning is a clean slate. Though we may change ( for what ever reason), HE DOESN'T.

Hello 2014....what ever comes my way, I know that my God is faithful to see me through.

Jesus friend of sinners

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world At the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy

Help us reach with open hearts and open doors

Break our hearts for what breaks Yours.
 

Fear or Faith

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV)

Fear cripples us, hold us back, lies to us that we are not good enough or we cannot do it! When we give in to fear it limits us. "Fear has to do with punishment."

However, faith does the opposite! My faith rises when I stand on the Word of God and look at my situation through the Word that I'm standing on. I love reading the Word each day because it reminds me of who I am through Christ and what I can do. The Words I feed on each day are like signposts along the road reminding me and directing me!

The song by Chris Tomlin comes to mind.....my faith shall be my eyes! Faith in God, His PERFECT love and in His POWERFUL word can drive out fear!!

Romans 8:15 

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Thank you Father for the indwelling of Your Spirit. Thank you for reminding me through Your Word this morning that Your Spirit DOES NOT make me timid but it does the opposite. Your Spirit gives me POWER, LOVE and SELF DISCIPLINE. Precious Holy Spirit, overwhelm me this morning with Your beautiful and powerful presence. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Rooted in the love of Christ

Jesus Christ said; "without me you can do nothing" When you know in your heart that "in Him we live and move and have our being" your very existence, the reason you live, your plans and your dreams become grounded and rooted in the love of Christ. It is only then you will know the true meaning of life in all its fullness! That is why Paul wrote; "He is my all in all"
